Each performer must sing 16 bars of music. Accompanist will be provided.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

 

The director is looking to cast ALL ROLES.

 

The directors will see performers of any race, socioeconomic class, color, nationality, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, neurological or physical ability, and education level.

ROLES

Roles listed as “Male” or “Female” refer to the character’s presentation within the story. We welcome and encourage auditions from all actors.

Jimmy (M) PLAYING AGE: Late Teens – classic, wholesome American boy (Tenor)
Lecturer (M) PLAYING AGE: Adult – the narrator (Baritone)
Mary Lane (F) PLAYING AGE: Late Teens –  sweet, naive, virginal gal (Mezzo-Soprano)
Jack Stone (M) PLAYING AGE: Adult, 30-45 – classic 1930s gangster-movie type (Tenor)
Mae (F)PLAYING AGE: Adult, 30-45 – hostess of the Reefer Den (Alto)

Ralph Wiley (M)PLAYING AGE: Adult, 30-45 – once a college kid, now an addict (Tenor)
Sally (F)PLAYING AGE: Adult, 25-35 – a Mae West type (Alto)
+ Ensemble (M & F)
