Green Day's AMERICAN IDIOT

June 10, 2016 - July 02, 2016

Music by Green Day
Lyrics by Billie Joe Armstrong
Book by Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Mayer

Green Day's powerhouse album is brought to life in this electrifying rock musical of youthful disillusion. The two-time Tony Award-winning hit musical American Idiot, based on Green Day's Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum album, boldly takes the American musical where it's never gone before. This high-octane show includes every song from Green Day's album American Idiot, as well as several songs from follow-up release, 21st Century Breakdown. An energy-fueled rock opera, American Idiot, features little dialogue and instead relies on the lyrics from Green Day's groundbreaking album to tell an unforgettable coming of age story.#pollardidiot

IS THIS SHOW RIGHT FOR ME?

Green Day's American Idiot feels less like a musical and more like an energy-fueled rock concert! This concept show tells an unforgettable coming of age story with strong social messages - a story about people who feel lost, both personally and politically, and are trying to find something they can believe in. It includes strong language driven by angry disillusionment, recreational drug use, a questioning of patriotism, and speaks to the part of us that will not be pacified or distracted. It hits every nerve and then some ... and then has the nerve to speak the truth.

At the Pollard, we strive to tell stories that will speak to all of our audience - but with such a diverse audience base, no one story will be right for everyone. We encourage you to research each title and decide for yourselves if this is a show you would appreciate.
