Michael James

Michael James began his design career with the Dallas Ballet, under the Artistic Direction of George Skibine and Marjorie Tallchief, creating costumes for both premiere works and the classic repertoire of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and the Paris Opera Ballet. Designing university and professional productions throughout the Southwest lead to work in New York, a national tour of Bob Fosse's Chicago, an international tour of Ain't Misbehavin', and OK Mozart's production of Gianni Schicchi. A founding member of the Pollard Theatre, Michael has spent the last twenty-five years chained to a sewing machine in the attic producing the wardrobe for mid-twentieth century American chestnuts and big brassy musicals like Hello Dolly, The Music Man and Guys & Dolls. Could someone please send some Schnitzler and Anouilh his way?
